Not much will change in the Explorer front court. Returning senior Najee Walls will add a lot more play making ability. Seniors Dan Corr and Sean Witherspoon will be looking to get some more action and continue their great starts to the season. In two games, Corr and Witherspoon have scored double digits both times. If Walls doesn't get the nod to start, it will most likely go towards sophomore Jarrod Stukes who started against GA. Stukes is a true point guard who excels at getting to the basket and dumping it off to a big man to finish. His court vision is extremely good.
Having senior Dave Krmpotich back will be a huge asset to the Explorer back court. The Colgate commit will add a lot of athleticism and presence down low. Along side him will be junior Shane Stark. Stark has been a rebounding machine and is an exceptional post player. Junior Ryan McTamney is coming off a great game nailing three from beyond and 11 points, so he could also get some time on the court.
So far this season, the Explorer bench has played a huge role in the success of the team. This came out specifically last game against GA. The bench played some very quality minutes and kept the Explorers fresh. Senior forward Charlie Hemcher ripped down seven rebounds off the bench, while sophomore guard Matt Paulus hit a three at the buzzer going into half adding to his seven points. Others to come off and make an impact could be seniors Mike Crone and Matt Dessner.
Up front, the Falcons are headed by senior guards Cameron Jones and Mekhi Bryant. Bryant is a very defensive minded guard who is also a great ball handler. Jones can be described in one word, shooter. Jones is a very good shooting guard that also has no issue getting to the basket. Jones has interest from many D1 schools and holds an offer from Rider. Senior Juan Perez Jones is also a player that gets some time and is just as dangerous of a player as his fellow teammates.
The back court of the Falcons is headlined by senior St. Bonaventure commit 6'8 Derrick Woods. Woods is a very athletic and strong post man. He plays above the rim and is a very good defensive player. Joining him down low is fellow big man 6'8 sophomore Isaiah Carpenter who transferred over from Notre Dame Prep. These two players are some of the biggest the Explorers will face all season and both players are proven to be quality players.
Coming off the bench are a lot more quality players adding to Pennsbury's depth. Seniors Nick Cereby and Juan Perez Jones will add a lot of talent to the floor and more play making ability. The Falcons also have another pair of sophomores that could come off the bench to add some more diversity in 6'7 forward Mark Flagg and 6'3 guard Zach Roy. The Falcons have just as much talent and depth as the Explorers and play just as big of a role.
