It came out last week that Hinkie and the Sixers plan on waiting until after the draft to name a head coach - a peculiar move given that a coach usually likes to have input. But, then again, the coach has had input the past few seasons and they've only been above .500 twice in 10 years so maybe change is good, no?
Now, Yahoo's Marc Spears is reporting that the Sixers could very well wait until after the Rookie Summer League in Orlando July 7th - 12th to name a coach. This is not unprecedented but it certainly is uncommon. The Magic hired Jacque Vaughn at the end of July last year and we all saw how that worked out for them (note: it wasn't all coaching, their team wasn't very good either).
Nevertheless, Sixers fans must wait in silence as the new leadership tries to navigate them back to relevance this off-season.
