Andrew Wiggins is in Philadelphia today and was at PCOM Monday morning. Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears reports Wiggins will be in Philadelphia for a three-day visit with the Sixers. he has one day visits scheduled with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks later this week.
What is particularly interesting is how the Sixers are treating Wiggins compared to the other top prospects as Spears reports, "The 76ers have not scheduled workouts with other elite draft prospects such as ex-Kansas center Joel Embiid, ex-Duke forward Jabari Parker or Australian guard Dante Exum."
No other visits scheduled? Just Wiggins. I love the sound of that and it sounds rather aggressive on the Sixers part.
It looks to be a two-way street with the interest in Wiggins as it was reported last week Wiggins wants to be in Philadelphia. ESPN's Chad Ford said it would benefit both parties if he lands with the Sixers. "It's a great scenario for Wiggins, as well. Of the three top teams, his camp prefers the Sixers as the best possible fit. This could be a win-win for both." It should be noted Wiggins' dad, Mitchell, finished his six-year NBA career playing for the Sixers in 1991-92.
The 19-year-old Wiggins was the Big-12 Freshman of the Year and a First-Team All-Big 12 Selection. Wiggins, who stands 6'8" 200 lbs., averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds last season for the Jayhawks. Wiggins is in the conversation for the No. 1 overall pick with teammate Joel Embiid and Duke freshman Jabari Parker.
