The Boston Globe's Fluto Shinzawa reports the Flyers are assuming half of Andrej Meszaros' $4 million cap hit according to Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli. Philadelphia traded the defenseman to the Boston Bruins for a third round draft pick on Wednesday at the trade deadline.
Meszaros, 28, had five goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 38 games this season for the Flyers despite spending a large part of the "2013" portion of the 2013-14 as a healthy scratch. The former-Barry Ashbee Award winner as the Flyers best defenseman carries a $4 million cap hit but is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
