The Phillies could be getting their ace back as soon as next week! The Philadelphia Daily News' Ryan Lawrence reports Phillies lefthander Cole Hamels threw seven innings in Single-A Clearwater allowing one run on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts. It is likely his final minor league rehab start before joining the Phillies rotation.
Hamels, 30, threw 81 pitches on Thursday night and 57 of them for strikes. He has posted a 2.12 ERA in his three rehab starts. Hamels started the season on the 15-day disabled list thanks to biceps tendinitis which pushed his offseason throwing program back.
