Stern was in attendance at the Beyond Sport Summit in Center City last week and had some interesting comments on what is going on in Philadelphia. Liberty Ballers' Roy Burton reports Stern called the Sixers apparent tanking scheme "small" and that he hopes "they have a great season and don't have a chance at the No. 1 pick."
What makes Sterns comments interesting is that they came right before new 76ers CEO Scott O'Neil took the stage at the Summit. O'Neil spoke of the new direction of the 76ers organization as a whole comparing what they are trying to do to what the Eagles did in the mid-1990s.
Stern seems mad that a team is not hiding the fact that they are tanking for a chance to get the No. 1 overall pick. Let's face it, teams rarely compete in the NBA nowadays with a superstar. Andrew Wiggins is projected to be a superstar. See where this is headed? Yeah? Well so does everyone else and Stern is pissed.
Oh well. It'll be Adam Silver's problem come draft time.
