New Eagles head coach Chip Kelly coached Jordan at Oregon and he is not shy about bringing in former Ducks as he has already signed former Ducks quarterback Dennis Dixon. NFL Draft expert Matt Miller said yesterday that he will “write it in ink” that the Eagles take Jordan No. 4 overall. Mike Garafolo echoed his sentiment that the Eagles would take Jordan.
That is all well and good but what does the coach think about Jordan? The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Zach Berman caught up with Kelly and spoke with him about Jordan.
“’Dion's just a special guy in my heart,’ Kelly said last week. ‘I had an opportunity to be with him for five years. He came into Oregon as a receiver, moved to tight end, we switched him over to defense the beginning of his sophomore year. He just had a huge impact, not only on the field but off the field.’”
If that is not a glowing review of a player then I don’t know what is. It important to note that a lot can happen between now and the first round of the draft but one thing is clear: the Eagles have a tough decision on their hands. It got a little tougher Tuesday morning when Alabama cornerback ran an unofficial 4.31 second 40-yard dash and followed it up with a 4.37 40. It is better to have a tough choice than no options, right?
