At practice today, cornerback Cary Williams and wide receiver Riley Cooper got into a scuffle. Philly Mag's Tim McManus reports that Williams was covering Cooper when they two started to jaw in each other's faces. Moments later the two were slapping each other's helmets before cornerback Brandon Boykin jumped in to break it up.
After being separated, Williams then removed his helmet to go after Cooper again before being held back by quarterback Michael Vick. DeSean Jackson and an assistant coach talked to Cooper to calm him down before returning to action while Williams was sent to the sideline to "cool off."
This is typically a training camp thing so not too much news here except it is hard to ignore the elephant in the room that is the comments Cooper made earlier this summer. Williams, for one, was somewhat critical of the comments. No word on whether or not the comments played a role.
