Yahoo Sports reports that Cox along with four other SEC players received benefits of $45,500 from NFL agents Andy Simms, Peter Schaffer, and John Phillips along with financial advisers Jason Jerrigan, Mike Rowan, and Hodge Brahmbhatt.
Cox, 22, reportedly received a paid flight from Birmingham, Alabama to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on January 3-6, 2012. Cox, along with teammate Chad Bumphis, also received return flight tickets and checked baggage.
This will not impact the Eagles and most likely won't effect Cox either. It is just another example of student athletes receiving impermissible benefits.
