Which brings us to the case of Josh Freeman. He got his first start for the Vikings on Monday Night Football and it didn't go well at all which prompted ESPN Stats & Information to start digging. They found that since 2006, Freeman has the highest percentage of overthrows in the NFL at a staggering 23.8% percent of throws.
Why should Eagles fans care? Well, the next two guys on the list don the midnight green. Nick Foles is second on the list as 17.8% of his passes are overthrown. Coming in tied for third with Joe Flacco is Michael Vick with 16.0% of his passes overthrown.
Thanks to Vick's 26 interceptions and 58.2% completion percentage over the last two-plus seasons, the 16.0% number isn't much of a surprise. Foles' five career interceptions (all coming in 2012) in 355 career attempts makes the 17.8% a bit of a surprise. What that tells you is that Foles is overthrowing, not only receivers, but everybody within range of the football.
