The Eagles Pro Bowl left guard reportedly would like a new contract. But, much to the dismay of the media, will not comment on the situation and declined to do so in a manner only Mathis could pull off.
Mathis, who turns 33 in November, is set to make $5 million this season as he signed a five-year, $25 million deal prior to the 2012 season. The Eagles guard was considered a Pro Bowl snub in 2012 and was not selected the first time around in 2013 but got in after injuries caused some players to back out. He was a first-team All Pro guard who had his best year to date in 2013.
Mathis just completed his third season in Philadelphia after signing with the Eagles as an unrestricted free agent in 2011.
