The NFL has announced Eagles starting right tackle Lane Johnson tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and will miss the first four games of the 2014 season. The original report of Johnson's suspension surfaced three weeks ago but no announcement was made.
Johnson, 24, was the fourth overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Eagles out of the University of Oklahoma. The versatile offensive lineman started all 16 games for Philadelphia at right tackle as a rookie in 2013. Johnson received positive ratings from Pro Football Focus in eight of the final nine games of the Eagles season - Philadelphia was 8-0 in Johnson's eight positive rating games.
The loss of Johnson hurts a strong Eagles offensive line that played the season in 2013 without missing any starters. That won't be the case in 2014.
