While it is not yet official, ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the Eagles quarterback is not expected to start Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to a hamstring injury. If Vick is unable to go, Nick Foles will get his first start of the season.
Vick, 33, was injured in the second quarter of Sunday's 36-21 win over the New York Giants. Prior to the injury, Vick was 6-for-14 (42.8%) for 105 yards but he did his damage with his legs rushing seven times for 79 yards.
Foles, 24, went 16-for-25 (64.0%) for 197 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions, and a quarterback rating of 114.9 in relief of Vick. The Eagles fell behind 21-19 late in the third quarter before Foles led the Eagles to 17 unanswered points including two beautifully thrown balls that went for touchdowns - one to Brent Celek and another to DeSean Jackson. Foles' only win as a starter came on December 9th last year against the Buccaneers on a touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin as time expired.
Kickoff in Tampa is slated for 1:00 pm on Sunday.
