The Eagles have announced that they have released cornerback Brandon Hughes. Hughes was placed on short-term injured reserve last Wednesday with the plan to release the 27 year-old once he fully recovered from his hamstring injury. Since he was released less than a week after landing on injured reserve, the Eagles have saved $444,000 in salary.
Hughes, 27, was released as part of the final cuts at the end of training camp. He re-joined the Eagles prior to the Week 2 matchup with San Diego after signing with the club to fill in for the injured Bradley Fletcher who suffered a concussion in the Eagles Week 1 victory over the Redskins.
