Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie announced on Friday they have made a structural change in their organization. Howie Roseman takes over as Executive Vice President of Football Operations while head coach Chip Kelly will take over the player personnel department.
Roseman will still be working in areas of his strengths. In the new role, Roseman was be "directing contract negotiations, salary cap management and NFL strategic matters, while overseeing the team’s medical staff, equipment staff and more." Lurie also stated that Roseman received a contract extension with the team.
Kelly will now have to hire a new personnel executive to that will report directly to him. The search for that person begins immediately.
"I am very confident about where we are headed as a team and as an organization. I look forward to continue working with Jeffrey and Howie as well as the personnel department," said Kelly on the team's website. “This is not a one-man operation. It will truly take a team effort to acquire and develop the best football players and then put the best team on the field each week. It will take all of us working together."
