Starting inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks left Monday night's win with a calf injury. He was listed as day-to-day for much of the week until Friday when the team officially ruled him out for Sunday's contest with Washington.
Casey Matthews and Emmanuel Acho took most of the reps in Kendricks' spot in practice this week. Another point of interest is the Eagles slight shift of first-round pick Marcus Smith whom the Eagles moved from outside linebacker to inside linebacker. He was inactive against Indianapolis and did not see any snaps in the season-opener against Jacksonville.
Kendricks' loss is big as he is tied with fellow inside linebacker DeMeco Ryans for the team lead with 10 solo tackles and is second on the team in total tackles with 13. Kendricks has been a menace to opposing quarterbacks as he is tied for the team lead in sacks and is tied for second in passes defended.
