The team announced Wednesday they have signed free agent safety Chris Maragos to a three-year deal reportedly worth $4 million with $1 million guaranteed but incentives that could push the deal to $5.2 million.
The 27-year-old Maragos comes to Philadelphia after spending the last three seasons with the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. The 5'10", 200 lbs. safety played primarily on special teams in Seattle but was hotly pursued in free agency because of his special teams abilities. The Eagles reportedly beat the Redskins to the punch by signing Maragos.
Maragos' signing in Philadelphia likely means the end of Colt Anderson's tenure with the Eagles as they are both safeties who are more effective on special teams.
