It appears the Eagles are taking steps to sure-up their offensive line. Fox Sports' Alex Marvez reports the Eagles have agreed to a contract with offensive guard Wade Smith. Smith is a guard who can also play center which means he will likely be insurance for Evan Mathis, who was placed on injured reserve with designation to return making him eligible on November 10th against the Carolina Panthers.
The 6'4", 307 lbs. Smith spent the last four seasons with the Houston Texans while earning a trip to the Pro Bowl in 2012. Smith struggled last year earning a -9.6 overall rating from Pro Football Focus with a -4.4 rating in pass blocking and a -7.8 rating in run blocking.
