What is worth noting is how he got beyond the tough times in which he was convicted on federal dogfighting charges, was incarcerated for 20 months, lost his job as a professional quarterback, lost all of his endorsements, and was forced to file for bankruptcy (ok, so maybe a small rehashing was necessary).
Anyways, one man believed in Vick when he was released from prison - Andy Reid. Reid was the head coach of the Eagles when he made the extremely controversial decision to sign the newly-free Vick back in August 2009. Vick is now in his fourth season as the Eagles starting quarterback and his success in Philadelphia can be attributed to Reid.
CSN Philly caught up with Vick to ask him about his feelings with Reid, who is in his first year as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, returning to Philadelphia on Thursday night. Vick was very candid about his affection towards Reid saying that they are "great friends" and still text each other. Vick also added that he has "unconditional love" for Reid as well.
It is not outrageous that Vick loves Reid. Reid took him off the street, gave him a job, then later turned him back into a starting quarterback in a passionate football market. It is nice that they have become close but Vick points out in the interview, Reid is the opponent on Thursday and the Eagles are looking to send him home with the first blemish on his record with Kansas City.
