Key additions to the lineup that were not there in 2013-2014 are the return of Jeremy Maclin and signing of Darren Sproles. The key departure, was of course, DeSean Jackson - who had a career year in Kelly's offense. LeSean McCoy also had a stellar year, piling up yards from scrimmage.
The only immediate need on offense, it seems, would be the addition of another receiver who can help fill the void left by Jackson. However, many are calling this draft extremely deep in the WR position.
The offseason signing of Malcom Jenkins should bolster the secondary, but many fans would like to see the Eagles target a safety in the first round. Another fan wish is a pass rusher, as the Eagles were on the bottom end of the stats in sacks.
In round 1 Thursday night, no one really knows what the Eagles will do. I've seen everything from trading up to get Manziel, to trading down to obtain more picks. Others say safety, some say WR. In my opinion, defense is key here. The Eagles showed the can put up points. Getting a guy who can grow to become the leader on the defense - secondary please - would help this team more to achieve greater success in 2014. If the draft is as deep as the "experts" say, a solid WR would still be available in round 2 to help keep the highly efficient offense running.
