The Eagles announced on Friday they have waive practice squad linebacker Jake Knott with an injury settlement due to a knee injury. Philadelphia signed Knott to the practice squad earlier this week after he was suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
The Eagles released a statement at the time of Knott's suspension,"We’re very disappointed to learn of [Knott's] suspension. We have spoken to Jake and he is fully aware of the mistake he made and owned it. The key for Knott, however, is to learn from that mistake and move forward with his preparation for the 2014 season."
The 2013 undrafted rookie out of Iowa State recorded six total tackles in 12 games played last season for the Eagles playing primarily on special teams. Depending on the status of Mychal Kendricks' calf injury, Knott could get a chance to make his way onto the 53-man roster.
