Something was bound to happen right?
It happened today. Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who enters the last year of his rookie contract, injured his right knee during a 7-on-7 drill this morning. He started off the line during a drill and just collapsed grabbing his right leg. He was carted off the field.
Maclin, 25, was in visible pain on the field with his hands covering his face. The Eagles announced he would undergo an MRI this afternoon but reports are beginning to surface that the receiver believes that he tore his ACL. He suffered the same injury in the same knee seven years ago while playing for the Missouri Tigers.
Last season with the Eagles, Maclin caught 69 passes for 857 yards and seven touchdowns. In four full seasons in Philadelphia, he has pulled in 258 balls for 3,453 yards and 26 touchdowns. Maclin has only missed five games in his career.
This would be a devastating loss for the Eagles offense and for Maclin as he will become a free agent at the end of the season. Every is hoping for the best.
