SD: I get asked all the time, "Why is his name Incarcerated Bob?" so, where does the Twitter handle come from?
IB: Started after I was incarcerated for breaking the face of a Pats fan during (1st SB) between Giants - Pats : This dude was warned several times to stop the drunk boasting and he went over his drunk limit one to many times and his teeth were introduced to my chair. Once Boomer & Carton heard the story (WFAN NY Radio Host) they had me on show and Carton started calling me Incarcerated Bob because I did 9 months for assault.
SD: You have hit on a number of major sports signings (Mario Williams in Buffalo, Peyton Manning in Denver, etc.). I know you won't reveal your source but after following you for a while, it seems that you have an source within CAA Sports. Can you confirm or deny that?
IB: As you know I can't reveal my Source(s) but that's a nice "Educated Guess" with CAA Sports...
SD: You tweeted a few weeks ago that despite being a New York fan (Yankees, Knicks, Islanders, Giants) that you "respect the shit out of Philly teams." I, for one, was very happy to see that but surprised at the same time. Why do you respect Philly teams?
IB: Philly teams are very gritty, especially Flyers & Phillies + the fans love the shit out of all their teams in Philly. Some media bitches like to kill Philly fans because they go overboard with the passion they show (Booing Santa, Beating up Ranger fans, etc.) but I respect that shit. Loyalty is what they have and if I was from Philly I would be representing my teams that hard as well. Plus beating up "PUSSY CAT" Ranger fans is always a plus in my book.
SD: I will admit that, at first, I was skeptical about how many stories you actually hit on. After a while and going through the NHL trade deadline following you (I was a little concerned when you had Rick Nash to NYR until I found out you were messing with the NYR fans), I realized that you really were credible. How do you handle critics and "haters" that are constantly out to disprove you?
IB: Haters are what made me, without them nobody would know about the 70+ stories I have broken in all sports the past 2+ years. I consider haters like jilted Ex-Girlfriends, they are mad that they can't be down with the #IBNGoonSquad crew so the only thing they can do is bitch about me and act like HS School Girls and complaining. But at the end of the day they are talking about me and in this industry that means I must be doing something right.
SD: There seems to be a rift between you and Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. Where did this originate and how often to you communicate with Florio?
IB: Florio has been one of the biggest haters since day 1. He's been mad since I scooped him on Revis signing two years back and, as you have seen, I continue beating him on every big story: Mario Williams / Peyton Manning / Tebow trade... and many many more. Haters gonna hate!
SD: Of all of the stories you have broken, what would you list as your top 3 stories that you have broken?
IB: Peyton Manning - Broncos story was by far the biggest story : I had Twitter jumping and Haters claiming that Manning would never sign in Denver..Well we know how that turned out. Carmelo Anthony Knicks Trade - Broke this about 5 hours before ESPN had a clue. Tim Tebow Jets Trade - I had every wannabe insider saying Jets had no interest but after my report, 20 Hours later ESPN and Florio breaks news that Jets are interested in Tim. Funny how that works, huh?
SD: Have you heard anything about the Sixers recently? Why did they hit the rough spot at the end of the year and is there truth to the rumors that Doug Collins has lost the locker room?
IB: Collins is one of the best coaches in NBA , Sixers almost fell apart but he kept them together and now you see the benefits of that as the Bulls will be done in 6.
SD: Finally, as a fan of the Islanders, how happy are you to see the Penguins getting criticized for "goonery" the way the penguins criticized the Isles? You rooting for the Flyers to win it all?
IB: I ride or die with my Islanders (Yes, I know it's been a bad stretch) but they are getting closer. I feel a playoff spot coming in 2012-13. The Pens cry so much and when Sid and Malkin get pushed around you start hearing all the whining, but when they start the "Goonery" you don't hear a peep from them... I rooted for Flyers in the first round and loved the ass whuppin they gave Cindy and company - I hope Flyers can get in the conference finals vs Rangers, that would be a treat.
