The 27 year old Grossman is not an offensive defenseman considering he has 5 points in 52 games and all of them coming off of assists. Grossman is a physical force with 96 hits and 100 blocked shots this year. He is expected to help the Flyers clear the crease and, not to mention, he just looks like a mean defenseman.
Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said via NHL.com, "He's experienced, he's a bigger body -- he's a good, solid defensive defenseman who can kill penalties for us. He can play a regular shift, he's a guy that can chew up minutes and he's a big body."
Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer suggests that this is not necessarily the end of the Flyers wheeling and dealing. The Flyers have been linked to bigger names such as Rick Nash and Luke Schenn in recent days. This may or may not be the end of the Flyers trading but, if it isn’t, this is a good start.
