Flyers general manager Ron Hextall announced on Tuesday that goaltender Steve Mason will be out for 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury. Mason left Sunday's 3-1 win over the Capitals after re-injuring his knee during a television break.
Mason, 26, has put up impressive numbers for the Flyers going 11-12-7 with a 2.27 GAA and a .925 SV% in 34 games. Mason's goals against average and save percentage are at career high levels, topping his 2.29 GAA set in his Calder Trophy-winning 2008-09 season and better than his .917 SV% from last season.
