One of the biggest additions to the blue line might not be a new face at all but, rather, the return of a former Barry Ashbee Award winner.
Andrej Meszaros, who played in only 11 games last season due to multiple shoulder injuries, would be a welcomed sight on the back-end for the Flyers. It was reported earlier this week that Meszaros was healthy and ready for camp. CSN Philly reports that Meszaros has not been cleared to return to action and will still need to undergo more tests of his shoulder.
The 27 year old is entering his fourth season in Philadelphia. He won the Barry Ashbee Trophy in 2010-11, his first season in Philadelphia, which is awarded to the Flyers top defenseman. He scored eight goals and tallied 24 assists for 32 points that season.
