The team will be without defenseman Kimmo Timonen for the second straight game tonight against the San Jose Sharks with a lower-body injury. Timonen took a Jonathan Ericsson slap shot off his foot last Tuesday but played on Thursday night against Anaheim before sitting out Saturday against Los Angeles. It is the 18th game that Timonen will miss in seven seasons with the Flyers.
The good news is Timonen skated this morning in the Flyers' optional skate but was reportedly a bit hobbled. Head coach Craig Berube said he believes that Timonen just needs some rest. Seeing as he turns 39 years old next month, maybe a few games off isn't a bad thing for Timonen.
In 55 games this season with the Flyers, Timonen has two goals and 17 assists while still averaging 20:44 of ice time.
