Another familiar name is in talks with the Flyers as well. The Flyers and winger Simon Gagne are both interested in keeping the 33 year old in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Inquirer's Sam Carchidi reports that the Flyers have been in discussion with Gagne's agent about a possible return.
The price has to be right for Gagne to return because the Flyers do not have a ton of cap room. The 33 year old was reacquired this year after playing in Philadelphia from 1999-2010. He scored five goals and added six assists in 27 games. He carried a $3.5 million cap hit last season.
He is not a top line winger anymore but he added quality minutes for the Flyers on the third line last year. As a fan, I would love to have Gagne back but breaking the bank for him is certainly out of the question.
