The Swiss won on a Simon Moser goal with just 7.9 seconds remaining in the third period with defenseman Mark Streit receiving the only assist.

Sweden 4 - Czech Republic 2

The Swedes got two goals from Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson and one apiece from Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg and Blues forward Patrik Berglund. The Czech Republic team was carried by two New Jersey Devils as Marek Zidlicky and Jaromir Jagr both scored in the second period.

Tomorrow:

• Kimmo Timonen and Team Finland face off against Michael Raffl and Team Austria at 3:00 am.

• Russia and Slovenia play at 7:30 am while Canada and Norway drop the puck at noon.
