Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos reports Vancouver Canucks forward Ryan Kesler has submitted a short list of teams in which he would waive his no-trade clause and it includes the Flyers, Penguins, and New York Rangers. It only adds more fuel to the fire as it was reported this morning the Flyers have a "substantial offer" on the table for Kesler.
Kesler, 29, was a target of the Flyers back in 2006 when they signed the young center to a $1.9 million offer sheet but the Canucks ultimately matched. The 6'2", 202 lbs. center has 20 goals and 18 assists in 60 games this season. He has topped the 20-goal mark in every 82-game season dating back to 2007-08. He is signed through 2015-16 with a $5 million cap hit.
A deal for either would likely begin at Brayden Schenn and go from there.
