The Ontario Hockey League has suspended London Knights goaltender, and Philadelphia Flyers prospect, Anthony Stolarz eight games for his slash to the head of Windsor Spitfires forward Josh Ho-Sang in last night's game the Knights announced on Wednesday. The Knights currently lead their playoff series 3-0 and it is unknown when Stolarz will return to action as it is based on the playoff schedule.
The incident took place in the first period last night after Ho-Sang slashed Stolarz's pads. After Stolarz covered up the puck and play was blown dead, Stolarz took his stick and slashed the back of Ho-Sang's head.
The slash only generated a high-sticking minor which is shocking considering Stolarz slashed the back of someone's head!
Stolarz, 20, was drafted in the second round of the 2012 draft by the Flyers. He is 25-5-2 with a 2.52 GAA and a .926 SV% this season for the Knights.
