The Flyers announced Tuesday night they have recalled center Scott Laughton from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and have loaned center Blair Jones to Lehigh Valley. The roster moves come hours after the team announced captain Claude Giroux will be out with a lower-body injury.
Laughton, 20, is playing in his first full season with the Phantoms and has scored six goals and dished out five assists for 11 points in 13 games in Lehigh Valley. The 20-year-old center spent last season with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL and scored 40 goals and dished out 47 assists for 87 points in 50 games.
This isn't Laughton's first taste of the NHL as he played five games for the Flyers to start the 2012-13 season before being sent to the OHL.
