The Flyers announced Friday that forward Zac Rinaldo has been placed on injured reserve and the team has recalled forward Tye McGinn from the Adirondack Phantoms.
Rinaldo, 23, was placed on injured reserve after it was discovered the gritty forward suffered a high-ankle sprain in Wednesday night's 3-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Rinaldo scored his first goal of the season and fought Canadiens forward Brandon Prust in just 4:53 of ice time in the game.
McGinn, 23, returns to the Flyers for the third time this season. The last time he was recalled from the Phantoms he came down with an illness and never saw the ice. His first stint with the Flyers was much more successful as he scored three goals in six games and, at one point, was the Flyers leading goal-scorer.
The Flyers look to extend their 10-game home winning streak tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 pm against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
