Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo was hit by Maple Leafs forward Jamie Devane and was pretty shaken up following it. The 23 year-old did not return and Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren announced that Rinaldo was day-to-day with an "upper-body injury."
It doesn't get much more vague than the standard "upper/lower body injury" so it is tough to see how long Rinaldo will be missing time. He scored three goals and added two assists last year but missed sixteen games largely due to a leg laceration.
Rinaldo's main job is to provide energy on the fourth line and throw his body around so an upper-body injury could slow him down as the season-opener looms two and a half weeks away.
