The team announced Thursday forward Zac Rinaldo will be out six weeks with a high-ankle sprain. This coming less than 24 hours after Rinaldo scored his first goal of the season and fought Canadiens forward Brandon Prust in the Flyers 3-1 win over Montreal Wednesday night in just 4:53 of ice time.
Rinaldo, 23, has spent most of the season on the Flyers fourth line piling up the hits and penalty minutes. Known as a ferocious fight despite his 5'11" stature, Rinaldo has only received five fighting majors in 2013-14. He has one goal and one assist for two points this season but leads the team with 135 hits and 101 penalty minutes despite only averaging 7:31 of ice time.
