Bobrovsky (2-0, 3.74 GAA) will make his fourth start of the year. His last start came last Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets. Bobrovsky allowed five goals before being pulled in favor of Ilya Bryzgalov who didn’t fare much better as he allowed four goals. The Flyers lost to the Jets 9-8. Bobrovsky looks to rebound from his last porous effort and lower his goals against average.
Hedberg (4-3-1, 2.28 GAA) will make his ninth start of the year tonight for the Devils in place of banged up goaltender Martin Brodeur. Hedberg is 1-3-1 in his last five games but 2-0-0 in his last two games against the Flyers dating back to last year.
The Flyers are coming off a 3-2 victory in Buffalo last night. They scored three goals in the first 6:23 to jump out to a 3-0 lead and chase Ryan Miller from the game. The Sabres gradually chipped away at the lead by getting a goal in the first and midway through the third. The Flyers held on over the last 11:31 in the third to get the two points.
The Devils are coming off a 5-3 loss to Toronto last night. The teams combined for five goals in the second period. Former Flyer and current Maple Leaf Joffrey Lupul scored a hat trick for the Maple Leafs as he scored all three of the Maple Leafs goals in the period. Martin Brodeur was in net for the Devils last night.
