Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds went down with a lower-body injury last week and the team listed him as day-to-day but he still made the trip to Cape Cod. The Philadelphia Inquirer's Sam Carchidi reported Simmonds was in a walking boot on his left foot while taking in Sunday's practice in Massachusetts. On Monday he returned to the ice with his Flyers teammates at practice.
His status for the season-opener on Wednesday against the Bruins is still up in the air.
Simmonds, 26, is a key offensive threat for the Flyers. The 6'2" forward scored a team-high 29 goals last season while setting career-highs in assists (31) and points (60) in 2013-14. Simmonds is a huge contributor on the Flyers power play as 15 of his 29 goals came on the man-advantage last season.
