Things are different in Denver. The Broncos are having a tough time keeping their front office members out of police custody. Director of Player Personnel Matt Russell was arrested for his weekend arrest for DUI.
Today, news comes out that former Eagles and Browns general manager, now Broncos Director of Pro Personnel, Tom Heckert was arrested on June 11th for DUI as well. Heckert will likely face discipline from the league and team, who called it "completely embarrassing." Heckert and the Broncos both released full statements on the incident.
The league has disciplined front office members before as they suspended Lions' president Tom Lewand for one month (later reduced to 21 days) and fined him $100,000 in 2010 for driving impaired. Russell and Heckert could face similar discipline.
Heckert served as Eagles general manager from January 2006 until January 2010 when he took over as general manager of the Cleveland Browns. He was fired on December 31st, 2012 following a disappointing 5-11 season. Heckert was hired by the Broncos in May.
Anyone else notice the massive weight gain from when he was with the Eagles to where he is at now? Yikes.
