Philly.com reports the former Phillies All-Star outfielder is suing the Los Angeles Country Sheriff's Department for unspecified damages but claims he was kicked, had his teeth knocked out and was 'beaten until he was 'barely breathing.'" The beating allegedly happened in April 2012 when he was serving time for grand theft auto.
Dykstra, 51, played eight years in Philadelphia batting .289/.388/.422 with 51 home runs and 251 RBIs. He was a three-time All-Star selection and finished second in the National League MVP voting in 1993 when he hit .305/.420/.482 with 19 home runs and 66 RBIs.
