Wizards - Washington opened their season with a loss to the upstart Detroit Pistons. SF trevor Ariza led all Wizards with 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Ariza wasn't the only Wizard with a double-double as former-first round pick John Wall had 20 points and 11 assists. Former-first round pick Bradley Beal also had a big night with 17 points including 2-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Newly acquired center Marcin Gortat played 17 minutes in the opener scoring nine points and grabbing nine rebounds.

Carter-Williams, 22, had a rookie debut for the ages against the Miami Heat, who one night before shutdown former NBA MVP PG Derrick Rose. The rookie guard put up 22 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds, while also doing work on the defensive end with nine steals. One of the most impressive stats in his debut was limiting his turnovers, which had been an issue in college, to just one.

Wall, 23, is coming off a solid opener against the Detroit Pistons putting up 20 points and dishing out 11 assists. The former-first overall pick had three steals of his own on the defensive side of the ball. In 11 career games against the Sixers, Wall is averaging 17.3 points, 8.1 assists, and 4.2 rebounds-per-game.
