Michael Vick went 14-for-27 (51.9%) for 248 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. He has just one game this year (33-30 loss to the San Diego Chargers) in which he had more than 15 completions. Vick wasn't the only member of the high-powered Eagles offense who was stymied in Denver. Running back LeSean McCoy rushed just 16 times for 73 yards and was limited to just one reception for 21 yards.
The Eagles need to get some production from their playmakers.
The Giants defense has struggled mightily through the team's first four games. The Giants come in ranked 20th against the pass allowing 261.8 yards per game through the air and are even worse against the run allowing 122.5 yards per game which is good enough for 28th in the NFL. They are allowing opponents to score 36.5 points per game which won't win many ballgames. Their vaunted pass rush has registered just four sacks through the first four games - Fletcher Cox and Connor Barwin have four sacks between the two of them for the Eagles.
Just how bad was the Eagles defense? Peyton Manning completed 82% of his passes and he had 34 passing attempts. The Broncos went 5-for-8 on third down but the defense did not even force a third-down on the final four touchdown drives. The Broncos' last four touchdown drives consisted of 12 second down conversions and resulted in 28 points.
The Eagles have allowed a total of 1,787 yards of total offense this year with only five takeaways. That is the most total yards through four games in franchise history and tied for seventh worst in NFL history and they have the fewest number of takeaways in the top-9.
It is scary to look at the Eagles defense as a fan and think about what kind of damage opposing quarterbacks can do to them. During their three game losing streak, Philip Rivers (SD), Alex Smith (KC) and Peyton Manning (Den) have gone 86-for-116 (74.1%) with seven passing touchdowns and no interceptions.
Eli Manning is having one of the worst seasons of his career. His 56.3 completion percentage is one of the worst of his career and his quarterback rating of 69.1 is the worst since his rookie season. He has struggled with turnovers as he has thrown nine interceptions through the first four games of the year and is on pace to throw 36 interceptions this year. If the Eagles secondary wants to get back on track, Eli & Co. might be just the group to do it.
Vick, 33, went 14-for-27 (51.9%) for 248 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. He has just one game this year (33-30 loss to the San Diego Chargers) in which he had more than 15 completions. On the year he is completing 55.1% of his passes for 1,080 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. Aside from the Kansas City game, Vick has no turnovers on the season.
Amukamara, 24, leads a battered and bruised Giants secondary into Sunday's game. He leads New York with five passes defensed and has one interception of his own on the season. He will likely be paired up against one of the Eagles top receivers on Sunday so his play will directly impact where Michael Vick can and can't go with the football.
