-Both the Capitals and Flyers have split the first two games of this season’s series by winning both games at the other’s home ice. The Capitals, who sit one point out of the top 8 for the playoffs, are on a recent hot streak. They have won three out of their last four coming out of a recent slump, and success on special teams, specifically their powerplay has helped them in their recent play. They are looking to bounce back though after a rough 5-0 loss against New Jersey on Friday night. Alex Ovechkin is on fire as of late with 4 points in his last 4 games. Controlling him will be a key goal for the Flyers' Defensemen tonight.
The Flyers are coming off of a key win against the Islanders where Claude Giroux had 3 assists. Tonight the Flyers will try to win back-to-back games for the first time since January. Ilya Bryzgalov gets the start tonight in net as he will try to continue his recent success. He had a stellar end to the Flyers road trip, it was a shame that the Flyers couldn't muster a single goal in two contests at both Edmonton and San Jose. The Flyers sit at 5th place in the east, 77 points, four behind the Pittsburgh Penguins and tied with the New Jersey Devils. This is the start of a huge stretch for the Flyers to pick up some points, 12 games in 21
