The Islanders (15-19-6) are coming off of a 5-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings and are 5-5 over their last ten. Unfortunately for the Islanders, they are 1-17-5 over their last 23 games against the Flyers. The Islanders line of Matt Moulson, eight points in the last five games, John Tavares, 12 points in six games, and Kyle Okposo, three goals in last four games, is going to be the key line for the Flyers to stop. The Islanders offensive production comes primarily from this line.
Evgeni Nabakov is expected to make the start for the Islanders. Naabakov is 6-10-0 with a 2.66 GAA and .910 save percentage. He will be trying to win his 300th game tonight.
It was a good day for a couple Flyers. Today is Claude Giroux’s 24th birthday and he, along with defenseman Kimmo Timonen, were named to the 2012 All-Star Game. Rookies Matt Read and Sean Couturier will play in the All Star Rookie Game. Danny Briere is slated to play in his 300th game as a Flyer.
Puck drops tonight at 7:00 pm. It can be seen on Comcast Sportsnet and heard on the radio on 94.1 WIP.
