Kazmir is coming off his strongest start of the season last Thursday against the A's when he went six innings allowing just one run on five hits while striking out 10 batters. Kazmir's numbers are inflated due to his first start against Houston in which he allowed six runs on eight hits over just 3.2 innings of work. He has allowed two or fewer runs in three of his four start. Like Pettibone, the Indians are 3-1 in his starts.

In his last start, Pettibone went 5.2 innings allowing three runs on seven hits while walking four batters earning a no-decision against the San Francisco Giants last Wednesday. He threw 112 pitches which marked the first time he threw more than 96 pitches in a start this year. The Phillies lost the game in extra innings. It was the first time the Phillies lost a Pettibone start, they are 3-1 in Pettibone starts this season.
