Lee (0-0, 1.50 ERA, .067 WHIP) threw six innings allowing one run on two hits, while walking two and striking out four Pirates last Saturday in which the Phillies would go on to lose the game in extra innings. Lee was the victim of little run support Saturday and the Phillies look to change that tonight.
Dickey (1-0, 3.00 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) threw six innings allowing two runs on five hits, while walking four and striking out three Braves last Saturday. The Mets would go on to win the game 4-2.
The Phillies are riding high after taking the last two games against the Marlins to win their first series of the year. Shane Victorino, Ty Wigginton, and Carlos Ruiz all went deep into the stiff left field wind the past two nights to power the Phillies to two wins. The Phillies starting pitching staff has been phenomenal and history is on their side. Cliff Lee is 2-0 with a .43 ERA in three career starts against the Mets. He has only allowed one earned run in 21 career innings against them.
The Mets are looking to rebound from their recent skid. They started the year 4-0, including a three game sweep of the Atlanta Braves. David Wright is 7-for-12 over their first four games but hurt his finger. He is not in the Mets starting lineup tonight. Slugger Jason Bay is missing having Wright in the lineup as he is just 1-for-7 over the past two games.
