Thursday night against the Blue Jackets was a perfect example.
Already with two assists in the third period, Giroux scored his eighth goal of the season (and 99th of his career) to tie the game 4-4. The special moment came with under two minutes remaining and Mark Streit's shot from the point went wide but that's when Giroux went to work on what could possibly be the goal of the year.
With two goals and two assists - all in the third period - it was Giroux's sixth career game of four or more points and his first since February 16th, 2012 when he recorded a career-high five points (all assists) against the Buffalo Sabres.
Thursday night marked the first time that Giroux recorded four points in one period of play.
