With just over 11 minutes remaining in the game, there was a mad scramble in front of the net. Steve Mason was caught out of his crease and the puck ended up on the tape of Turris right in front of the net. As Flyers defenseman Nick Grossmann tried to clear Colin Greening from the crease, he ended up stopping Turris' shot with his left then right skate to keep the game tied at 2.
Moments later, Kimmo Timonen skated in on Senators goaltender Robin Lehner and beat him with a backhand to put the Flyers up 3-2. Just 23 seconds later, Wayne Simmonds beat Lehner on the five-hole to give the Flyers a two-goal lead.
Talk about turning defense into offense. The momentum the Flyers got with Grossmann's kick save was enough to get them two goals and ultimately a 5-2 victory.
