MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reports Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins will miss his second consecutive game tonight against the Toronto Blue Jays with a sore groin. Manager Ryne Sandberg, who was not concerned Monday about the injury, said Rollins is now day-to-day with a groin injury.
Rollins, 35, is batting .271/.345/.421 with three home runs and 15 RBIs in 28 games this season for the Phillies. The former-All Star is making his money with two outs as he is batting .400/.571/.750 with two home runs and seven RBIs.
For someone with decent speed and solid range at shortstop, a groin injury is definitely a concern for Rollins and the Phillies.
