Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston reports the Los Angeles Kings will be without center Anze Kopitar tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers thanks to an upper-body injury. Due to an escrow/salary cap issue with suspended defenseman Slava Voynov, the Kings are unable to recall a player to fill Kopitar’s spot so the Kings are forced to play with 11 forwards.
Kopitar, 27, has two goals and one assist for three points in eight games this season. In 10 career games against the Flyers he has scored one goal and dished out five assists for six points while averaging 22:33 worth of ice time.
Los Angeles losing a key two-way player is a big break for Philadelphia, who is looking to string together three straight wins for the first time all season.
