The Explorers will be featured as part of ESPN's Tip-Off Marathon on November 12th. La Salle will open their season by taking on the Quinnipiac Bobcats at 9 a.m. on ESPN.
La Salle is coming off one of their most successful seasons in program history and their most successful since they were NCAA Runners-Up in 1955. The Explorers stormed to 23-9 regular season record before being part of the "Last Four In" to claim their first NCAA Tournament birth since 1992.
The Explorers would make it all the way to the Sweet 16 before losing to eventual Final Four team Wichita State. They endeared themselves to America with their resiliency and love for the dramatic, none more so than Tyrone Garland's "Southwest Philly Floater" to beat Ole Miss in the third round of the NCAA tournament.
Quinnipiac is no pushover as they put together a solid 18-13 record last season.
It is always fun to have a little Big 5 flavor when it comes to the national spotlight, especially from a school that has been relatively obscure for much of the last two decades.
